Land Rover Crosses the 500,000 Sales Milestone in North America

land-roverUsually imports from North America do not work in the United Kingdom. It is the same the other way round. Be it cricket, movies or TV shows, rarely do they click with the people of the opposite countries. It is somewhat similar for cars but still Land Rover ‘hopped across the pond’ to the United States and has caught the fancy of many Americans.

So one would reckon that thousands of Land Rovers would have been sold in a country where SUVs are very, very popular. Well, the British company has hit the right note in the United States as Land Rover North America has sent word that a Range Rover Sport Supercharged was their 500,000th vehicle sold in the US. The announcement was made at an annual dealer
meeting.

Chris Marchand is the executive vice president of marketing and sales at Land Rover North America. Marchand stated, “Reaching this milestone demonstrates the strength of the Land Rover brand and is a result of a dedicated and passionate retailer network. The Land Rover model line-up has undergone a complete revitalization and reaching this achievement shows the growth we have experienced over the past four years. It took us ten years to sell the first 100,000 vehicles and we have sold the last 100,000 since July of 2006.”

It has been nearly twenty-years since Land Rover North America began selling the vehicles. Presently, Land Rover is celebrating their sixty years. They have surely come a long way and now their line-up includes the likes of Land Rover LR3, Land Rover LR2, Range Rover Sport as well as the original Range Rover. They have also taken the environment initiative seriously and have worked on cutting the emissions on the new models.
