Lexus already offers a drop-top version of the IS sport saloon called IS 250C, and they also offer the F-Sport package for this car which includes stuff like carbon ceramic brakes, high flow intakes, 19 inch wheels and… Nevertheless, rumor has it that a topless version of the mighty IS-F is also in the works, to take on BMW M3 convertible.
The IS-F C or whatever it’s called, would get the same 5.0 liter V8 as the sedan which has has 416 horsepower and 371 lb.-ft. of torque and the same eight-speed automatic gearbox and drive train.
But it needs to shred some weight somehow to be as delicate to derive as the sedan version. The convertible IS 250 is already about 180kg heavier than the hardtop, and that only has a V6. So for the IS-F Convertible with a big heavy V8, life’s a bit harder! It certainly will feature a folding metal roof.
