The Oldest Miura In The World Displayed At The Lamborghini Museum

THE OLDEST MIURA IN THE WORLD

The second Miura built and the oldest surviving one in the world, chassis 0862, is currently on display at the Lamborghini Museum courtesy of its Swiss owner, who took enormous care in restoring it over the past four years.

This wonderful car is one of the three prototypes of the Miura P400 built in Sant’Agata Bolognese in 1966 and it was presented at the Turin Motor Show the same year. The 0862 stunned the public with its unique color, Metallic Pearl White, but it was subsequently repainted Indian Gray, as the original color was considered too flamboyant for road use.

THE OLDEST MIURA IN THE WORLD

It was the first Miura delivered to someone outside the company, Lamborcar’s Gerino Gerini, who set off immediately for Cortina d’Ampezzo to celebrate the New Year. In March 1967, Gerini participated in a race at Eaumorte in Geneva with this Miura, the first to enter a competition. In May 1967, Gerini accompanied Ferruccio Lamborghini to the Monaco Grand Prix, where this Miura was used as a pace car during the time trials.
