GMC Introduces the All-New 2024 Acadia, Redefining Premium SUV Excellence

2024-acadia

GMC has taken the wraps off the highly anticipated all-new 2024 Acadia, setting a new standard for premium mid-size SUVs and ushering in a new era for the brand’s SUV and crossover family. This latest iteration boasts an extended body, enhanced interior, elevated exterior design, advanced technology, and a comprehensive set of safety features.

Duncan Aldred, Global Vice President of Buick and GMC, stated, “GMC’s brand mission is to be a leader in capability, professional grade refinement, and technological innovation. The all-new Acadia showcases all that and more in a uniquely GMC way — and it’s a blueprint of what’s to come for the GMC SUV portfolio.”

The 2024 Acadia is larger in all dimensions compared to its predecessor, providing increased passenger space and flexibility with a seating configuration accommodating seven or eight passengers, depending on the trim. The larger size translates to expanded storage capacity, offering nearly 80 percent more cargo space behind the third row and over 36 percent more behind the second row compared to the current generation.

Under the hood, all trims of the Acadia feature a new 2.5L turbocharged engine, delivering more power and trailering capability than the previous generation. Generating 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, the engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission on all trims with available all-wheel drive. The Acadia AT4 model boasts an exclusive off-road-capable Active Torque Control AWD system.

The 2024 Acadia introduces Super Cruise, an advanced hands-free driver assistance system, making it the fifth GMC model to offer this groundbreaking technology. Super Cruise is available on various trims, including Elevation Premium and AT4, in addition to Denali. The latest version of Super Cruise includes trailering assist and automatic lane-change capabilities.

Inside, the Acadia features a new interior with a 15-inch-diagonal premium GMC infotainment system display across all trims. The system offers customizable touchscreen displays, Google built-in compatibility, and a high-contrast display. The interior also includes a standard 11-inch-diagonal driver information center.

The Acadia’s advanced technology extends to its camera views, with up to nine available options for enhanced visibility. The SUV boasts an extensive list of standard advanced safety features and driver assistance technologies, ensuring a safe and secure driving experience.

The Acadia lineup includes the rugged AT4 model, emphasizing off-road capability with distinctive design elements and exclusive interior appointments. On the other end, the Denali model epitomizes refined luxury, featuring one-touch folding second-row seats, power-folding third row, distinctive exterior trim, and a host of luxurious interior features.

Production of the 2024 GMC Acadia is set to take place at GM’s Lansing Delta Township Assembly in Michigan, with availability expected in early 2024. Further details, including pricing, will be announced closer to the start of production.

Chevrolet’s New Medium-Duty Trucks to be Named Silverado

Chevrolet’s New Medium-Duty Trucks to be Named Silverado

Chevrolet confirmed that its all-new Class 4 and 5 trucks launching in late 2018 will be branded Silverado. The announcement came during Chevrolet’s Truck Centennial event, which kicked off a 100-day celebration of the first century of Chevrolet pickups.

“The first Chevy truck was built in 1918 for small business owners, and we have been expanding the market ever since because customers want specialized trucks that can tow and haul with confidence,” said Sandor Piszar, director of Marketing and Advertising for Chevrolet Trucks.

In the last three years alone, Chevrolet has revitalized the midsize pickup segment with the Colorado, launched a new range of Low Cab Forward trucks and introduced a completely redesigned 6.6-liter Duramax diesel for heavy-duty pickups.

John Schwegman, U.S. director of Commercial Product, said Chevrolet’s growth in the commercial market has moved in lockstep with the expansion of the brand’s truck portfolio. Commercial volume is up by 48 percent since 2013 and domestic segment share has grown year-over-year for the past 13 consecutive months.

“We are earning new business because we have more solutions to help businesses grow,” Schwegman said. “The Silverado 4500 and 5500 will stand out because we’ve designed the trucks around how customers work. They will be powerful, highly maneuverable and among the easiest trucks on the market to upfit with specialized bodies, such as dump bodies, rollbacks, freight boxes and more.”

Both the Silverado 4500 and 5500 will be available in Regular and Crew Cab models, with 4×2 and 4×4 capability and a wide range of GVWRs and wheelbases. Chevrolet will also offer these trucks with optional OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity provided by AT&T, which fleet management companies are embracing to help improve safety and productivity.

All Silverado 4500 and 5500 models will be powered by a Duramax diesel engine and Allison transmission, a legendary combination that has powered about two million trucks.

Allison Transmission, based in Indianapolis, is the largest designer, developer, manufacturer and distributor of medium- and heavy-duty fully automatic transmissions. Their designs have been used in a variety of applications, including construction, fire, distribution, bus, motorhomes, defense, energy and refuse. They have helped drive Chevrolet’s hardest-working trucks since the 1950s.

The first Duramax diesel engines were introduced in Chevrolet and GMC trucks in 2001, and since then have accumulated more than 100 billion miles of real-world experience.

Introducing The Distinctive 2018 Gmc Yukon Denali

Introducing The Distinctive 2018 Gmc Yukon Denali

PROFESSIONAL GRADE IS A COMMITMENT TO CONTINUALLY MAKE OUR BEST EVEN BETTER. THAT’S WHY WE’VE WORKED TO MAKE THE NEW 2018 YUKON DENALI FULL-SIZE LUXURY SUV EVEN MORE DISTINCTIVE AND REFINED THAN EVER BEFORE.

Professional Grade is more than just a commitment to designing and building the trucks and SUVs with attention to design and detail that’s second-to-none. At GMC, Professional Grade also means we continually strive to make our best even better. That’s why we’ve worked to make the new 2018 Yukon Denali full-size luxury SUV even more distinctive and refined than ever before.

DENALI DETAILING
Yukon Denali’s bold exterior styling holds true to Denali tradition. Attention to precision and detail is second to none, and helps Yukon’s powerful-yet-elegant shape further stand apart in the full-size luxury segment.

This detailing can be seen everywhere, from the accents on the standard 20-inch wheels, or even the standard HID projector-beam headlamps with signature LED accent lighting – but it’s especially evident in Yukon Denali’s newly redesigned grille.

Much like the grille used on the new 2018 Terrain Denali, Yukon Denali’s new grille is a work of art in and of itself, and yet another reflection of GMC’s commitment to precision. The horizontal pattern is highlighted with three-dimensional block elements, which were carefully crafted to catch light just the right way, much like a high-end timepiece or sculptural jewelry.

“The new grille, which is flanked by HID headlamps and LED daytime running lamps, advances the design legacy established with the very first Yukon Denali,” said Helen Emsley, executive director, Global GMC Design. “It’s a more exciting and sophisticated design, while remaining instantly recognizable as part of the GMC Denali family.”

INTERIOR APPOINTMENTS
Yukon Denali’s interior continues to offer the modern design, upscale appointments, and advanced connectivity expected of a Denali. Perforated leather-appointed first-and second-row seating, accentuated with French Seam contrast stitching is standard, as are heated and ventilated front seats and heated outboard second-row seats. Throughout Yukon Denali’s interior, you’ll find precision-crafted accents, including both burnished aluminum décor and new Mastique Ash wood trim.

Denali drivers are presented with a four color head-up display, along with a dynamic 8–inch diagonal configurable cluster which allows the driver to see pertinent information as they see fit. Yukon Denali also includes GMC IntelliLink1 with 8-inch diagonal color touch screen and navigation2 as standard equipment, which also includes both Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility3. OnStar4, along with an integrated 4G Wi-Fi hot spot5, is also standard for a 3 month trial period.

Yukon Denali models also include a Bose Centerpoint audio system, wireless phone charging6, active noise cancellation, and a hands-free programmable power liftgate as standard equipment.

CAPABILITY, REFINED
Yukon Denali continues to deliver great performance and capability, thanks in no small part to its powertrain. A 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V-8 is standard equipment on Yukon Denali, and offers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Advanced features, including direct fuel injection variable valve timing, and Active Fuel Management enable the engine to optimize efficiency, yet provide peak performance when needed most.

For 2018, Yukon Denali pairs that 6.2-liter V-8 with a new 10-speed automatic transmission. This new transmission offers a wider gear ratio spread than the previous eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing the 6.2-liter V-8 to remain within the “sweet spot” of the torque curve when upshifting. Additionally, the new transmission provides a lower numerical top gear ratio, which allows Yukon Denali’s engine to run slower while cruising at highway speeds, helping improve efficiency.

The 2018 Yukon Denali and 2018 Yukon XL Denali will be available from GMC dealers nationwide starting fall 2017.
